ZJU-PMIC Visits Member Companies in Guangdong and Engages in the PCIM2024 Exhibition

On August 28, 2024, the Zhejiang University Hangzhou International Science and Technology Innovation Center Power Management Technology Innovation Alliance (ZJU-PMIC) participated in the PCIM Asia Shenzhen International Exhibition for Power Components, Renewable Energy Management. The alliance engaged in extensive technical exchanges with companies specializing in power semiconductor components and modules, electromagnetic and magnetic materials, advanced testing equipment, and system-level enterprises from various fields. These interactions provided a comprehensive understanding of the latest trends in the upstream and downstream sectors of the power electronics industry.

Member Company Visits

In August 2024, ZJU-PMIC visited several member companies, including Shenzhen Santek New Materials Co., Ltd., Dongguan Mentech Optical & Magnetic Co., Ltd., and Shenzhen Invt Electric Co., Ltd.

Professor Wu, along with his research team, visited Santek New Materials Co., Ltd., where they held a productive discussion on the innovative applications of magnetic materials in the field of power electronics. As a leader in the magnetic materials industry, Santek New Materials has been dedicated to the research and application of high-performance soft magnetic materials and has accumulated extensive practical experience in the power electronics sector.

During the exchange, Santek New Materials provided a detailed presentation on their research achievements in the development of next-generation high-frequency, high-efficiency magnetic materials, particularly highlighting breakthroughs in improving magnetic performance and reducing energy losses. Both sides engaged in an in-depth discussion on how to combine Santek’s advanced materials technology with the university’s fundamental research to meet the increasingly demanding performance requirements in the power electronics field.

During the visit to Mentech Optical & Magnetic Co., Ltd., the team toured various product lines, including magnetic components, optical communication products, and various power products. In the exchange, Mentech showcased its latest technological breakthroughs in high-frequency transformers, network filters, and optical modules. Professor Wu and the team had in-depth discussions about the application and collaboration opportunities regarding magnetic components in power electronics.

As a member of the PMIC alliance, Mentech also offered valuable suggestions for the further development and growth of the alliance.

As a leading enterprise in the electric vehicle power management field, Shenzhen Invt Electric Co., Ltd. has made significant achievements in on-board chargers, DC/DC converters, and integrated on-board power systems. During this exchange, Invt Electric introduced its progress in efficient energy conversion, smart charging technologies, and safety management systems, showcasing multiple successful application cases. Professor Wu shared PMIC’s latest research findings in the field of power management technology, particularly focusing on innovative methods for improving system efficiency and reliability. Both sides had in-depth discussions on how to combine these cutting-edge research results with Invt Electric’s practical application needs to further enhance the performance and safety of electric vehicle power management systems.

Membership Visits and Enterprise Technical Exchanges

During these member visits, ZJU-PMIC engaged in comprehensive exchanges with three member companies, listening to their feedback and linking upstream and downstream enterprise needs to provide deeper technical support for their development.

ZJU-PMIC also visited Dongguan Changong Microelectronics Co., Ltd. and HyperFusion Digital Technology Co., Ltd., where the team toured the companies’ laboratories and explored their latest products. The discussions focused on the development trends of future server power supply solutions. In discussions with HyperFusion, ZJU-PMIC thoroughly exchanged ideas on the explosive growth in computing power systems and the increasingly stringent requirements and challenges for server power supplies. With Changong Micro, the conversation centered on power chip solutions that meet the demands of efficient, high-performance, and low-energy-consumption cloud computing.
