In the early summer, the breeze is fresh and the tea-covered hills are lush green. On June 1, 2026, the ZJU-PMIC team headed to the Longjing secret realm to launch a team-building event themed “Ten Miles of Tea-Seeking · Walking Together on the Research Path,” hiking along the Langdang Ancient Trail, taking in the Longjing tea fields, gathering strength amidst the mountain scenery, and walking side by side through fun competitions.
Hiking and Exploring, Traversing Ten Thousand Mu of Longjing Tea Plantations
This team-building event started from the Shililangdang Archway in Meijiawu, climbed up along the mountain stone steps, passed the Sanfencha landmark of the Shifeng Mountain range, and traveled deep through the core ecological tea plantations of Longjing. With emerald-green tea hills rolling on endlessly before the eyes and the breeze carrying tea fragrance across the mountains, the ZJU-PMIC team climbed together, chatting about daily research as they walked, temporarily leaving behind hours bent over desks in the laboratory and immersing themselves in the landscape and tea culture of West Lake Longjing.
Climbing higher all the way, the mountains, tea fields, and villages came into full view, allowing everyone to relax body and mind in nature and draw closer to one another. The hike ended at the China National Tea Museum (Longjing Branch), where all members assembled and the fun team challenge officially began. Everyone was divided into three teams: the Tea-Seeking Team, the Tea-Recognizing Team, and the Tea-Comprehending Team.
All of One “Chip” | Many Ropes as One Brush, One Heart in Every Stroke
A giant brush was pulled by dozens of thin ropes. Each team member held one or two ropes, and only through the coordinated rope control of all members could writing be completed on red paper. Everyone concentrated their efforts and cooperated with one another, experiencing the true meaning of unity and collective strength in the pulling of ropes and the falling of strokes.
The three teams put brush to paper, writing “悟” (comprehension), “龙井” (Longjing), and “茶” (tea). The neatness of the strokes was the best answer sheet for team collaboration.
Feint East, Strike West | Blindfolded Battle, Teammates Giving Long-Distance Instructions
Groping and striking while blindfolded, teammates off the field directed movements in a constant stream of voices, with dodging, probing, and surprise attacks unfolding in turn, and laughter spreading throughout the tea museum grounds.
From the small desks of the laboratory to the ten miles of tea hills in Longjing; from research partners bent over tackling key problems to close friends seeking tea side by side. This team-building event allowed PMIC faculty and students to relieve stress amidst the mountains and waters and gather strength through collaboration. May all members carry the enthusiasm and tacit understanding from this journey in the mountains and continue to seek and move forward together in the field of power management technology.
